Ultra-clear glass, also known as low-iron glass or super-clear glass, is a high-quality, multi-functional new high-grade glass variety with light transmittance of up to 91.5% or more, crystal clear, high-grade, and elegant characteristics.
Ultra-clear glass has all the processable properties of high-quality float glass at the same time, with superior physical, mechanical, and optical properties, and can be further processed in various ways, like other high-quality float glass. The unparalleled superior quality and product performance of ultra clear glass have a broad application space and bright market prospects.
Ultra clear glass is mainly used in the field of high-grade doors and windows, buildings, high-grade glass processing and solar photoelectric curtain wall, as well as high-grade glass furniture, decorative glass, imitation crystal products, lamps and lanterns glass, the precision electronics industry (photocopiers, scanners), special construction and so on.
The difference between ultra clear glass and clear glass:
(A) Different iron content
Clear glass and ultra clear glass transparency mainly differ in the amount of iron oxide (Fe2O3); clear glass contains more, and ultra clear glass contains less.
(B) Different light transmittance
The light transmittance of clear glass is about 86% or less; ultra-clear glass is a kind of ultra-transparent, low-iron glass. Light transmission rate of up to 91.5% or more.
(C) The glass burst rate is different
As the ultra clear glass raw materials generally contain less NiS and other impurities, the fine control of the raw material melting process, making ultra clear glass relative to ordinary glass has a more homogeneous composition, and its internal impurities are less, which greatly reduces the chances of spontaneous explosion.
(D) Different colour consistency
Due to the iron content in the raw material being only 1/10 or even lower than ordinary glass, ultra clear glass, relative to ordinary glass on the less absorption in the green band absorption is less, to ensure the consistency of the glass colour.
(E) Different technological content
Ultra-clear glass technology content is relatively high, and production control is difficult. Higher quality determines its price; ultra-clear glass is generally sold at 2 times the price of ordinary glass, and the technical barriers are relatively high.
